Collectible shoes? Really? I had no idea that shoes were investments. Above is what a $5,750 pair of shoes looks like. Below is the list of shoes that were stolen. I’m still scratching my head.

Nike Air Jordan 2 High DB “Charity” worth $1,200

Nike Air Jordan 9 Retro DB “Doernbecher” $1,800

Nike Air Yeezy 2SP “Red October” $5,750

2 pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2NRG $4,000 each

Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro Dr. Doernbecher $1,250

Nike Air Foamposit One NRG Galazy $1,750

Nike Air Jordan 5 Retro “Supreme” $650

For God’s sake, you don’t want to wear them!

The guys at my high school would carry around these shoes in shoe boxes, changing into them only after they sat down, and out of them when they got up to walk. They were afraid they would scuff the bottom of the shoe.

What’s really asinine about collecting shoes is the glue and rubber deteriorate, so they’re just garbage anyway.

they can be refurbished just like cars and are still worth more being an older refurbished pair over a newer re-release

Cars are meant to driven. Shoes are meant to be worn.

Want to collect things of value? Get some artwork.

Ah, sneaker heads. I’ve heard of them, but much like bigfoot and Donald Trump, I didn’t think they were real.

You’re misinformed. I’ve got a pair of pumas that I’ve only ever worn less than 50 times, purchased in 2009. They are still going strong. Still sitting in the box, haven’t fallen apart. Room temperature storage. I last wore them a year ago.

I don’t collect shoes, but they are definitely worth buying to sell to collectors. Virtually no maintenance since they’re never worn and a pretty crazy price you can sell them for if they end up being collectors items.

17 y/o in my neighborhood just bought himself an Audi A7 with the profits from reselling shoes for 3 years.. It's a serious hustle, I respect it. If you are serious about it you can make very good money relatively easily.

There have been a few kids who work for me that will wear expensive basketball shoes and change them out when they get to work. I always jokingly hassle them about it. They usually stop bringing them after I mess with their laces(they don’t ever dare pull the laces tight).

One kid had these.

Kinja'd!!!

They are rubber soled covers to protect your shoes. I saw them and asked him to explain himself(in a joking manner).

kid: “Those are my gloves.”

me: squints in confusion “Whaaa?”

I said I’m going to create protective covers for actual gloves and call them boots.

In my day, we called those rubbers and wore then in the rain.
